Cooperative PHY Demo

Following Link will take you to the video of our CooperativePHY prototype using coded cooperation. The Video that we call "Dancing Man" is a custom made matlab video that consists of 24 frames. One frame is transmitted at a time. Video starts with transmission in direct mode. There are two images, top image is original image that is being transmitted and bottom one is the received image being shown. There are 3 Phases in this demo

  • Phase 1: this Phase shows performance of Direct communication under fading conditions. we emulate bad channel between source and destination by tuning Tx RF and Tx BB gains. The quality of frame received is very poor in this case.
  • Phase 2: this phase shows performance of communication via helper that has better channel conditions with both source and destination node. There is no receiver combining, destination uses signal received from helper for decoing. This acts as a reference for performance improvement by combining signals from source and helper signals. this phase shows some improvements in frame quality.
  • Phase 3: this phase shows performance gain achieved by combining source and helper signals at destination and use them for decoding. No error frames are there in this phase.
