Hostap Demo

Following Link will take you to the video of our Hostap prototype using Cooperative MAC protocol . The left upper window is a monitor running on Transmitter showing the current status of helpers. Receiver plays video received from Transmitter on the right upper window. The left lower window and the right lower window are the monitors running on Faster help and Slow helper respectively. Faster helper can provide 11Mbps link connection and Slow helper can provide 1Mbps connection.

There are 3 Phases in this demo

• Phase 1: Both Fast helper and Slow helper can available, Transmitter will choose the faster one. The bandwidth is 11Mbps, which can fully satisfy the transmission of the video. In this phase, video is extreamly fluent.
• Phase 2: Fast helper are disabled and only Slow helper keeps providing 1Mbps transmission relay, which is slightly less than the bit rate of the video. Therefore, the video have some short interruption and delay. Some of frame might be lost.
• Phase 3: Both Fast helper and Slow helper are disabled. In this situation. Video is transmited from Transmitter to Receiver directly at a bandwidth far less than the bit rate of the video. So there are lots of frames lost.
