About this Site
The purpose of the Witest Lab site is three-fold:
- To inform people about the activities of the lab.
- To provide a guide for new students who join the group: The site provides adequate information to people who join the group to understand the background and to catch up with the current status.
- To provide the research community an “information pool” with organized knowledge about issues related to the implementation of MAC protocols: Considering that information about implementation of wireless protocols is not available on-line in an organized form, our goal is to provide a site that would give organized information in this field. This information is incremental, from answering to simple questions as “what is a wireless driver?” or “what is a software radio platform?” to more advanced issues as “what are the rate adaptation schemes implemented in MadWifi?”.
In order to fulfill the previous goals, we designed the site with four different main pages (horizontal menu on the top of the template):
- Witest Lab: Here you can find information about the activities of the lab.
- Drivers Testbed: Here you can find information about the lab implementation efforts using open source drivers.
- WARP Testbed: Here you can find information about the lab implementation efforts using the WARP platform.
- GNU Radio Testbed: Here you can find information about the lab implementation efforts using GNU radio.
In order to provide the documentation about the implementation of MAC protocols we developed a Training page for the Drivers Testbed and a Training page for the SoftRadio Testbed , where we give a guide for understanding issues related to the implementation using the particular platform. The information that is provided through these pages is grouped in two levels:
- Information that describes general issues and is available to everybody.
- Information that describes specific issues related to our work and is available only to the members of the lab. In order to have access to this information someone has to login (using the link on the top right of the template). For login information please contact Dr. Thanasis Korakis.
The site is a wiki in order to give the chance to all the members in the group to be able to add material in an easy way.
